I am renting a fully furnished room in a house from a woman who has sold the house. The sale happens June 1st. I signed a lease in August that has me as renting a room in the house untill May 15th. The person she sold the house to will be moving in March 1st and renting untill owning. Trick is, she has a 66 year old male moving in and I am a 22 year old female. Can she force me to live with a male room mate? I am extreemley uncomfortable with that. She also wants to move me to a different room in the house because this 66 year old has bad knees and cannot go up stairs. She will also be taking away the spot in the garage where I have been parking for the gentleman's stuff. :( When she moves out she will be taking my furnishings with her and they are to be replaced by this gentleman in the upstairs room. I want to stay in my room, with my furnature and without an old man i do not know living in the house with me. What can I do? I am at such a loss. She will not even install a door to the upstairs so that I can have privacy or move my stuff for me. I am in the middle of a semester and cannot move because of lack of time and because of the stress. She has said she is willing to terminate the lease, but I feel that she should have to provide for movers because I am in the lease still and scheduled a may 15th end of lease so that I could move if i had to after the semester is over. Is there anything out there to protect me from this?

Sounds like you rented a room in a boarding house. If that is the case, then at some point, I assume you expected other boarders. It also sounds like the landlady is trying to force you out. Although it is the middle of the semester and stressful, you may be better off moving now rather than dealing with more stress from this landlady.
