Automatic Renewal Provisions

Are automatic renewal provisions enforceable in a lease with a one year term? I read that the provision must be conspicuous in the lease? If it is not, can a landlord still withhold a security deposit? The provision is in regular font and states that unless the tenant provides 60 days written notice, the lease is automatically renewed for another year.

In Ohio, automatic renewal provisions (which extend the lease for another term if the tenant fails to give notice are enforceable, but there are important exceptions, and you fall into one of them.

The case of Meadowbrook Apts v. Roberts holds that any automatic renewal provision which requires the tenant to give 60 days notice is invalid. If you email me at eewillison@earthlink.net, I will send you the case as an attachment in MS Word.
