problems with tenant and lease signing

I have a tenant in a duplex of mine that signed a one year lease. The year is now over. I've made several attempts to get him to sign another one year lease but he refuses. It's been almost a year now that he hasn't signed the lease. Am I losing rights the longer I leave him in there without a lease? I've heard some states carry the last signed lease agreement on a monthly bases, but I'm not sure about Ohio. He's still paying rent as usual as well.
