I would like to know if my landlord (this is an apartment) can come bang on my door and demand rent from me.

In Ohio, the landlord and the tenant must abide by the lease agreement. If the lease says that the tenant will pay the rent to the landlord at the rented premises, then that would be an enforceable clause.

But all leases in Ohio also have an implied covenant of quiet enjoyment, meaning that the landlord cannot disturb the tenant. If the banging is late at night and done in a loud and obnoxious manner, then this may amount to a violation of the covenant of quiet enjoyment.
