Burden of Proof with Counterclaim

Our landlord sued and we filed a counterclaim.

We are now in the discovery period and have sent request of documents twice and a first request for admissions from the landlord. We received some documents so we got very specific on the 2nd request. It seems the landlord has no documentation for his claims.

We received a request for documents now. We have loads of things including receipts, pictures and the law.

Are we required to reply to the document requests and shouldn't we wait until we have received our requests first?

You are required to respond. I would write the landlord and inform him that you need to receive responses within a certain period of time. Indicate that if he fails to comply you will file a motion with the Court asking the Court to compel the production of the requested discovery.
